Just released! - Fall semester schedule for A-B Tech's Hospitality Dining Productions.
The Hospitality Education students of A-B Tech will be offering both regular buffets and served buffets this fall. Both formats will feature their popular International and American Regional menus. Lunches and dinners will both be in the Magnolia Building.
Seating for lunch will be at 12:00, 12:30 and 1:00. Seating for dinner will be at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00. Payment is with cash or check; they do not take credit cards. Reservations are required and may be made by calling Lee Sokol at 254-1921 ext. 244. Reservations will be taken after 10:00 a.m. on the Monday of the week you would like to dine. (Reservations for September 4 will be taken on Friday, August 29.)
A few notes on these meals:
- Seating times - refer to times that groups of people are seated. Once seated, you may linger over your meal.
- Dress - work/nice casual for lunches, dressy for dinners.
- Tips - any tips are optional, appreciated and split between two student clubs that are culinary program related and go toward things such as helping to pay for student trips to competitions in which they are participating.
- Meals - are referred to as "classes" by the culinary program. This is good food and a fun experience, but keep in mind the meals are also a learning experience for culinary students.
- Payment - A-B Tech takes cash or personal checks.

Buffets
Include appetizers, soup, salads, entrées, side dishes, desserts, and beverage. The cost will be approximately $11-15 for lunch and $15-17 for dinner. Prices may be higher for special events such as the Harvest Buffet. For buffets, they can take tables of up to eight persons.
Served Buffets
Will have self-service buffet tables for appetizer, salad, soup, and bread, but will have the advantages of table service as well. It gives their students an opportunity to take orders and serve the entrée and dessert courses to the tables. Price will vary according to guest entrée selection, running about $ 9-11 for lunch and $13-15 for dinner. For served buffets, we can take tables of up to six persons.
Express Lunch
These upscale lunches feature Continental American Cuisine of gourmet sandwiches, salads and entrees and include complimentary soup, bread basket and beverage. International desserts are available for an additional $1.50. Lunch is served at 12:00PM with seatings at 12:00PM, 12:30PM and 1:00PM. Reservations can be made for table sizes of up to six people. Prices for lunch range from $8 to $12 per person plus tax.
Classical Dinner
Elegant five-course prix fixe (fixed price) dinners include wine and table-side service elements that change from week to week and are the Hospitality Department's most exciting culinary offering. The evening consists of some of the finest food (America's versions of classical cuisine) and service available anywhere in Western North Carolina. Students will be presenting traditional favorites with modern twists reflecting the latest culinary trends from America's leading chefs. This is an excellent chance to treat yourself to a luxurious evening out. The dinner lasts around two hours, so bring your appetite and prepare to be pampered and delighted.
Dinner reservations are for parties of two or four people. Seating is at 6:00PM. The cost of dinner ranges from $22 to $27 per person plus tax.
